Tuholski wins Harris Chain Classic!

(December 11, 2011)  Ray Tuholski, father of SSBM Club Member Brian Tuholski, pulled out a victory at the 2-Day Harris Chain Classic last weekend by landing at total of 18lbs of Florida Largemouth during the course of the tournament.  A tough bite had many competitors stumped, but as a Northern angler Ray is used to tough conditions and managed to work through them for the win.  His winning bag was anchored by a 9lb Hawg which was joined by a 6lbr just for good measure!  Congratulations to Ray for a great victory!

Dues are Due!

(November 1, 2011)  Please keep in mind that club dues are due at the next meeting.  All members must pay at least 1/2 of their dues at the December meeting and the balance before the first tournament in 2012.

Tuholski & Elson take 5th at the 2011 Barnicle Memorial Tournament

(October 16, 2011)  It was a tough bite at this year's Barnicle Memorial Tournament at Mashpee/Wakeby with 41 teams launching and only 22 weighing fish.  But, despite temperatures in the low 60's and strong winds, Brian Tuholski managed to put together a strong pattern for Smallmouths and landed 13.09lb of Mashpee Bronzebacks!  After boating his 3.9lb kicker first thing in the morning on a topwater bait, Tuholski located active Smallies in the shallows and got them to react to a variety of jerkbaits.  Elson proved to be a superb net man, making sure that his partner's fish made it into the livewell.  Bob and Brian Wheeler had a strong performance as well, finishing just out of the top five.  Jim D'Ambra and Wally Balchunas also weighed fish, and rounded out a solid showing by SSBM members.  Congratulations to all the SSBM club members who participated in the 2011 Barnicle Memorial Tournament.

Bylaw changes voted in

(October 4, 2011)  Changes to the bylaws were voted in at the October meeting.  No major changes were made to tournament rules.  Bylaws will be officially updated before the next meeting.

Matt Allen makes it two for two!
(October 3, 2011)  Fresh off of his dominating performance at Long Pond Harwich, Matt Allen loaded his boat again to lock up his second win of the 2011-2012 season.  With another mixed bag of Largies and Smallies, Matt weighed in 15.39lb to win by almost 2 pounds.  Fishing top water early, and finding some furious Smallie action, Matt moved on to flipping brush for Largies later in the day to reel in the victory.  Steve Estes fished deep weeds with soft plastics to land in second place with 13.52lb.  Brian Wheeler took third with 10.19lb, Mike Woodbury was fourth with 9.73lb, including a 5.24lb Largemouth that took lunker, and Mike Achille secured fifth place with 8.42lb.
