Club History
Twenty
years ago SouthShore Bassmasters was organized for members to build
friendships in the sport of competitive bass fishing, for experienced
members to teach newcomers how to catch bass, and to send qualified
members to compete against other clubs in the state fishoffs in hopes
of advancing to divisional and national events. Today those goals still
remain. We have a good mix of “young guns” and “old veterans” which
makes for some enjoyable events. Good sportsmanship and
camaraderie are highly valued qualities we seek in new members. Our two
day “end of the season” tournament is usually out of state and always
looked forward to by everyone. If you like to fish for Largemouth and
Smallmouth Bass in Southeastern Massachusetts as well as New Hampshire, Vermont, and or Maine and have similar goals about bass fishing then we’d like to invite you to join our club. We have limited openings for boaters and non-boaters alike.

Where does the club fish?
We fish mostly in southeastern Massachusetts but generally have at least

an attempt each year to fish at least two different bodies of water

learning to fish new water.

If you want to join the club as a boater, your boat must be at least 16'
in length, console steering (no tiller models), have a working livewell
and kill switch.
What kind of gear do I need?
Your rods and tackle are up to you, but typically a minimum of three
rods of various types will do. Three critical items that you will need
are:
- A life jacket (PFD)
- Rain Gear
- A tournament weigh-in bag
