Winning Pattern
Blind casting senkos in spawning areas
Late in the day, a few anglers figured out that there were post-spawn largemouth up shallow that could be caught by fan casting through coves and flats, but Brian "Tukes" Tuholski already had that pattern working all day and it paid off big time.  Blind casting a senko in shallow spawning areas, Tuholski managed to land largies that were cruising, guarding, or just hugging any available bottom cover.  Although he didn't see any of the fish he caught before they were hooked, Tukes knew the general area they were in and he stuck to his pattern all day.  Despite an agonizing lost fish just before weigh-in that was pushing 6lb, Brian's 15.23 lb bag (including a 5.57lb hawg) was more than enough for the win.  Congratulations to Brian Tuholski for a great victory!

Second place went to Jim D'Ambra who figured out the same type of pattern as Tuholski, but not quite soon enough to land a limit of fish.  Jim's three decent fish totaled 8.28 lb, good for second place.

Mike Elson also caught fish fan casting shallow, but like D'Ambra, Elson spent too much time trying to make other patterns work.  Elson's three fish went for 8.0 lb, giving him a third place finish in the tourney and just enough points to keep himself in first place overall in the 2018 AOY race.

Congratulations to the top finishers and to all of the SSBM club members who braved a tough post-spawn at Mashpee Wakeby.
