Matt Allen has years of experience fishing Ashumet Pond and that experience showed in the season’s final tournament as Allen dropped 19.22 lb on the scales to walk away with a convincing victory. Fishing isolated submerged cover all day with both Texas Rigs and Drop Shots, Allen caught solid fish throughout the day. He had a decent bag heading into mid-morning when he set the hook into a 6.14 lb Hawg largemouth that bumped his bag up to almost 20 lbs! With that, he had more than enough for the win and for the tourney lunker. And, the victory catapulted Allen into first place in the AOY race, landing him his sixth AOY which is a new club record. He finished the season with four wins and proved once again that he’s the man to beat in the SSBM club. Congratulations to Matt Allen for a great win and another incredible season!
