Matt Allen is a tough competitor on any body of water at anytime, but put him on a small lake that he's familiar with, armed with 27 offshore waypoints, and he's basically unbeatable! And he proved that to be true this week at Billington Sea by dominating the field and earning his third win of the season. Allen probed offshore brush and sunken trees with his signature soft plastics to cull up to 14.40 lb, including a 4.54 lb kicker. It was another strong performance by the man-to-beat in Southshore Bassmasters, and more than enough to take home the first place trophy. Congratulations to Matt Allen for a great victory.
Bob Wheeler turned in a strong performance of his own, and continued his climb up the AOY leader board. Bob fished a combination of moving baits and soft plastics to land 11.79 lb of Billington largemouth, including the tourney lunker, a 5.43 lb hawg. Congratulations to Bob Wheeler for a solid day on the water and another top finish.
