Winning Pattern
Punching pads and dragging deep weeds
Flipping pads is not where you typically find Jimmy "The Jeweler" D'Ambra, but that's exactly where he was and what he did to win the season opener at Long Pond Lakeville.  After landing a decent bag of largies by flipping a number of shallow lily pad fields, D'Ambra moved to one of his off-shore spots and quickly hooked into a 4.49 lb kicker.  That fish, along with four other solid bucket mouths, was enough to put Jimmy into the winners circle.  Congratulations to Jim D'Ambra for another great victory!

Mike Elson also flipped shallow cover all day and landed in second place with 15.99 lb.  Despite upgrading throughout the day, Elson wasn't able to get that really big bite that he needed to steal the victory from D'Ambra.  Nonetheless, Elson had a very solid day, especially by Lakeville standards, and held off a hard-charging Matt Allen to retain second place.

Matt Allen, rejoining the club after a two year absence, worked off-shore wood and weed beds for a stout limit of 15.52 lb.  Allen's bag also included the tourney lunker, a 4.88 lb Lakeville Hawg.

Club Rookie, James Marino, fishing as a non-boater with Matt Allen, was able to land two fish for 3.18 lb.  Not a bad start to the season, especially at a typically stingy Long Pond Lakeville.  Congratulations to all the top finishers and to all of the club members who braved the epic heat to do battle on Long Pond Lakeville!
