Drop shot in 27 ft of water

Despite being know for his shallow, dock skipping and flipping skills, Matt Allen moved offshore for the win at Winni 2020. He proved, once again, that he's more than just a dock-skipper by drop-shotting smallies in 20 - 30 ft of water. His 14.16 lb bag was more than enough to win the tournament, holding off his closest competitor Brian Wheeler by over three pounds. Congratulations to Matt Allen for another great victory!

Brian Wheeler made a strong effort to overtake Allen, but couldn't quite get the bites he needed. He did land the tourney lunker, a stout 4.65 lb largemouth, but couldn't upgrade any of his remaining fish to push him into first place. Demonstrating his never-give-up (Mike Iaconelli) persistence, Wheeler fished to the last minute and gave it all he had. Congratulations to Brian Wheeler for another great performance and a solid second place finish.

James Marino, fishing as a non-boater, landed a limit for 9.60 lbs which was good for third place, reminding everyone that he's going to be a formidable competitor this year and in years to come. Congrats to James for another great tournament, and to all the SSBM club members who braved New Hampshire's big lake during Bike Week!
