Farrell finishes 6th overall
Table Rock Lake (MO)

With a berth in the 2016 BFL All-American on Lake Barkley already secured, Day 3 of the TBF National Championship was a chance for Tim Farrell to relax and take some revenge on Table Rock Lake that had been very stingy over the first two days of the tourney.  And that's exactly what he did, landing his first limit of the tournament for 11 lb 4 oz.  Even though he had slightly more weight on Day 1, that was only on four fish, and as every tournament angler knows, getting your limit on an unfamiliar body of water is just about the most satisfying feeling in fishing.  Tim's total weight of 29 lb 5 oz landed him in 6th place overall after three days of fishing against some of the best anglers from across the country and Canada.  At the press conference following weigh-in, Farrell was appreciative of all the support he received and for the great event that was made possible by TBF, saying that the tournament was a "Great experience" and the people were "as nice as can be."  "The whole event was done so professionally, it is definitely worth the time and effort to get to this level."  He also thanked Erik Kaplan, former Mass Bass President, saying "Erik was awesome. He was in a camera boat and followed me around for 5 hours."  "It was an amazing time!"  "I'm so glad I got a limit today!"  Clearly, Tim deserved to be at the championship and deserves all the congratulations and accolades he's received since.  From all the members of Southshore Bassmasters...great job Tim, and please go easy on us at Billington next week!

Farrell Wins Eastern Division
Table Rock Lake (MO)

Many anglers can win when the fishing is easy and it's a slug fest, but few can consistently grind out a victory when the conditions are ultra-tough. But, today on Table Rock Lake, Tim Farrell proved once again that he is one of those special anglers who can win when the pressure is on and the conditions are brutal.  Heading into Day 2 with a 2 lb lead, Farrell knew he needed a decent bag to secure the victory.  Showing up to the scales with two fish for 6 lb 5 oz was probably not what he had in mind, but under the conditions it was as good as sacking a 20 lb limit.  Farrell's two day total of 18 lb 1 oz was more than enough to bring home the victory over the other Eastern Division competitors and to qualify him for the BFL All American June 8-11 on Lake Barkley.  Tomorrow, Farrell will be back on Table Rock to compete against the other division winners for the chance to win the Living the Dream package of paid entry into the FLW Tour next season.  Congratulations to Tim Farrell for another amazing victory and good luck in his quest for the ultimate prize tomorrow!

Not to be outdone by Tim Farrell's incredible victory, Matt Allen staged a major rally himself and weighed in three fish for a two day total of 8 lb 15 oz.  It looked like that might be enough to win the Eastern Division Co-Angler crown, until Scott Balasco of Rhode Island squeaked past him for the victory.  Given the tough conditions, and fishing from the back of the boat, Matt has everything to be proud of for his 2nd Place finish in the Eastern Division.  Congratulations to Matt Allen for another great performance and for an amazing run that took him all the way to the National Championship.

Farrell Leads Eastern Division
Table Rock Lake (MO)

The wait is over...it's game on! Tim Farrell and Matt Allen took to the waters of Table Rock Lake this morning to do battle against anglers from 47 other states and Canada. And, they both lived up to their reputations as top sticks, but it was Farrell who really showed out. Bringing 4 fish to the scales for a total weight of 11 lb 12 oz, Farrell took the lead in the Eastern Division by exactly 2 lb, and landed in 9th place overall. Farrell said he fished clean and landed all four bites he had during the day, but conditions were tough and he just couldn't get that fifth fish to fill out a limit. He wasn't alone in that regard, however, as only 10 limits crossed the scales due to tough pre-spawn conditions.  Farrell has positioned himself perfectly going into Day 2 of the 3 Day Tourney and has a great shot at locking up one of the top 2 spots in the Eastern Division after Day 2 which would advance him to the BFL All American.  And, he's well within striking distance of the overall tournament leader, Daniel Gray (DC), who managed a five fish limit of 13 lb 13 oz.  The top overall boater and non-boater advance to the Forrest Wood Cup and the boater wins the Living the Dream package of paid entry into next season's FLW Tour and use of a brand new wrapped truck and boat for the season.  The tournament is far from over, but Farrell is in the driver's seat in the Eastern Division going into Day 2.  Way to go Tim!

Matt Allen, fishing as a non-boater, brought one fish to the scales for 2 lb 1 oz.  Knowing Matt, you can be sure he's not satisfied bringing one fish to the scales, but considering the tough conditions he has positioned himself for a big move on Day 2. Matt sits in fifth place among non-boaters in the Eastern Division, but is only 4 lbs back. And, he's in 30th place overall among non-boaters, but only 5 lbs behind the leader.  One or two good bites tomorrow could literally put him right in the mix for the top spots in the Eastern Division and the tourney overall.  You can count on the fact that he will grind it out no matter what and do everything he can to move up the leader board.  Hopefully, both Matt and Tim will crush 'em tomorrow and show the rest of the country what SSBM bassin' is all about. Good luck guys!
