Skipping Senkos around docks
What happens to a great bass pond when a severe cold front lands the day after the state dumps a few tons of trout into it? Apparently, the bass hit the trout buffet and then sit by the pool! Last season, it took over 19 lb to win at Ashumet, with the middle of the pack all catching 13-14 lbs. This year was a different story as most anglers struggled to catch one or two small fish. But, someone always figures out a way to succeed, and this time it was Brian “Senko Master” Ware. By patiently skipping the few docks that were available, Brian was able to land four fish for 6.46 lb. Despite losing a solid 5 lb hawg at the boat, Ware’s 6.46 lb was still enough to take the win by over 2 lbs! This was Brian’s first club victory and a well deserved one at that. Congratulations to Brian Ware and to all the SSBM club members who suffered through the day at Ashumet.
