Whether it was the summer heat or the tourney pressure from earlier in the week, Long Pond Lakeville was even stingier than she usually is, and that's saying a lot for a place where single digit limits are common.  But, as always, some anglers were able to find fish and bring in respectable bags.  At the top of that group was Bill Barrett, continuing his hot streak by notching his third win of the 2026 season!  Barrett worked hard early, drop-shotting offshore weed and rock with a variety of small soft plastics, and put a limit in the boat by about 9am.  Luckily for Bill, he found decent fish early, because after 9:00 his bite shut off and he only landed one short for the rest of the day.  But, his early flurry of 10.37 lbs was enough to secure the victory and bump him into 2nd Place overall for the season, trailing Jim D'Ambra by only one point!  The AOY race is really heating up with only two tournaments left so stay tuned to see who will bring home the 2026 AOY Trophy!

Mike Drake overcame boat problems, electronics problems, and sleep deprivation to notch his best finish of the season, landing in 2nd Place.  Always a threat for a decent limit on Long Pond Lakeville, Drake worked a variety of shallow and deep cover to boat a 9.16 lb limit.  And with the two final tournaments of the year falling right into Drake's wheelhouse, don't be surprised to see him make a quick climb up the standings before the season is over!
