Mike Drake continued his dominance this season with a win at Ashumet. This was Drake's third win of the year and should lock up back-to-back AOY trophys for the Pittsburgh Hammer. Drake fished a key set of docks and some off-shore grass for all of his fish. He culled up to his winning weight of 15.91 lb by mid morning and spent the rest of the day on cruise control just waiting for the weigh-in. Congratulations to Mike Drake for another great victory!
Drake's performance was impressive but the big story of the day was Bob Wheeler's second-place bag because it included a massive hawg lunker that tipped the scales at 7.51 lb! Not only did Bob grab the lunker award for the day but he also smashed the existing All-Time Lunker award for club history. He caught the big girl on a small crankbait and said she didn't fight that hard at first so he didn't realize how big she actually was until he had her in the boat. Congrats to Bob Wheeler for jumping into the number one spot on the All-Time Lunker list! Records
