2016 Results - Harwich

Battling hurricane force winds and sideways rain, Tim Farrell proved that he's the man on Long Pond Harwich by blowing away the rest of the field for the second straight year. After realizing that his typical moving baits weren't working, Farrell quickly adjusted to a deeper presentation and once he got dialed in, he was on 'em. Landing multiple limts throughout the day, Farrell culled up to his winning weight of 17.20 lb which included the tourney, and season lunker Smallmouth at 4.48 lb. The lunker was particularly frustrating to both Matt Allen, who landed a 4.43 lb Smallie, and to Jim D'Ambra whose 4.45 lb Bronzeback from Champlain was the season lunker until Farrell landed his slob at Harwich. Congratulations to Tim Farrell for another great victory on Long Pond.
Matt Allen fought the good fight and brought in 14.65 lb to land in second place. Allen methodically fished a variety of shallow and mid-depth cover and structure with soft plastics to boat his five. Although he was just short of the victory, Allen's second place finish was more than enough to lock up his fifth straight Angler of the Year award. Over the last half-decade, Matt has established himself as the man to beat and the most dominant angler in club history. And, he's done it all with a humble attitude and a willingness to help other club anglers learn to be better fisherman. Apparently, he hasn't given away all his secrets though as he is still almost impossible to beat as he's proved for the last five years. Congratulations to Matt Allen for another AOY trophy to add to his collection!
Jim D'Ambra rounded out the top three check cashers with a five fish limit of 7.98 lb. D'Ambra Carolina Rigged his way to a limit despite a tough bite and difficult weather conditions. Congratulations to all three top finishers and to all the SSBM club members who battled it out on Long Pond Harwich.
