Chatterbaits & Senkos in submerged weed
Jim D’Ambra continued his winning ways with another dominant victory at Long Pond Lakeville. Building on the same pattern he used to win the State Championship at Champlain, D’Ambra fished Chatterbaits and Senkos through submerged weed. Despite many of his favorite spots being weed-free due to weed removal efforts by lakeside homeowners, D'Ambra was able to locate a few remaining areas of submerged grass and work them in rotation throughout the day. Alternating between a Chatterbait and a Senko, Jim was able to land a solid Lakeville bag at 12.39 lb with a massive 5.62 lb kicker that was good for tourney lunker. Despite the efforts of a hard-charging Justin Canada, D'Ambra was able to hang on for the win. Congratulations to Jim D'Ambra for another incredible victory!
Justin Canada did his best to overtake D'Ambra but came up just short and landed in second place. Canada also worked submerged weed, but rather than making a milk run around the lake he concentrated on one specific weedline all day and was able to pull 10.49 lbs of Lakeville Largies out of it. Despite an annoying and constant barrage of pickerel, Canada was still able to land a bass once in a while and slowly build his bag. A combination of jigs and Chatterbaits did the trick for Canada and he came very close to knocking D'Ambra out of the winner's circle. Congrats to Justin Canada for a great finish and to all of the SSBM club members who turned out to do battle on Long Pond Lakeville!
