Bill Barrett found a sweet spot and milked it to perfection to lock up his second club victory in dramatic fashion with a 17.22 lb bag that included the new all-time club lunker, a 6.89 lb Largemouth. Bill caught a few decent fish on his hot spot and then set the hook into the biggest fish in club history to anchor his massive limit. A 17 lb limit is solid on any lake, but it's almost unheard of on Winni in the summer, and BIll pulled it off despite dismal rainy conditions and a very competitive field of SSBM anglers. Congratulations to Bill Barrett for a great win and a great lunker!
Matt Allen had a stellar day as well, locking up second place with a five-fish limit of all Smallies that weighed 16.30 lb, another unusually stout bag for a Winni summertime tourney. Randy Almeida, who has won his share of tourneys on the Big Lake, culled through 40 plus fish to bring 14.71 lb to the scales, capturing third place. Congratulations to the top three and to all the SSBM club members who braved the miserable conditions to chase glory on Lake Winnipesaukee.
